Monte Carlo study of SU(3) gauge theory on a 12sup4 lattice

We calculate Wilson loops for pure SU(3) gauge theory on a 12sup4 lattice by Monte Carlo simulations. All the Wilson loops up to size 3 x 3, previously calculated on a 6sup4 lattice, are reproduced on the 12sup4 lattice. In addition we calculate all additional Wilson loops up to size 6 x 6. Using all of these Wilson loops, we estimate the asymptotic-freedom scale parameter ..lambda..sub0.
