Adjustable throttle connector for a vehicle speed control unit
A speed control unit is described for controlling the actual speed of a vehicle at a desired speed, the vehicle including an engine having a throttle movable in two directions to increase and decrease the speed of the vehicle, comprising: means for generating a signal representing the desired speed of the vehicle; means for generating a signal representing the actual speed of the vehicle; means responsive to the desired speed signal and the actual speed signal for moving a movable member in a speed increasing direction when the actual speed of the vehicle is less than the desired speed; means connected between the movable member and the vehicle engine throttle for imparting movement of the movable member to the vehicle engine throttle. The connector means is connected at a first end to the movable member and at a second end to the vehicle engine throttle. A pivot point is disposed between the first and second ends about which the connector means is adapted to pivot; and means for adjusting the point about which the connector means pivots without shifting the first and second ends relative to the movable member and the vehicle engine throttle, respectively.
