Drive circuit of electrostrictive element actuator in diesel engine fuel injection device

Patent ·
OSTI ID:7047504
A drive circuit of an electrostrictive element actuator for use with a fuel injection device is described including: an electrostrictive element actuator; condenser means for storing electric charges generated by the electrostrictive element actuator; electric charge transferring switching means, connected to receive charge from the electrostrictive element actuator at one terminal thereof, and connected to ground at another terminal, for conducting between the terminals thereof during a first period and applying electric charges generated by the electrostrictive element actuator to the condenser means during the first period; a first rectifier element connected in parallel with the electric charge transferring switching means; electric charge returning switching means, connected to provide charge to the actuator at one terminal thereof and connected to ground at another terminal thereof, for conducting between the terminals thereof, during a second period other than the first period, to couple charge stored in the condenser means to the electrostrictive element actuator during the second period; a second rectifier element, connected in parallel with the electric charge returning switching means.
