Underwater inspection is difficult at best, and techniques and equipment designed specifically to evaluate corrosion of steel reinforcement in concrete are limited. Several methods of destructive and nondestructive evaluation used in the inspection of a concrete structure in a marine environment are discussed. The relative success of each is summarized in this case history.
