Acoustoelastic evaluation of residual stresses in steel rings: Final report
Technical Report
·
OSTI ID:7043250
The specific goal of the work as originally proposed was to examine the suitability of this ultrasonic technique for measuring the residual stress in a deformed steel ring, and if feasible, to measure this residual stress. Experimental difficulties have prevented the completion of the latter task, but the basic suitability of the technique has been examined. This report will address the progress made, difficulties encountered, and recommendations for further investigation. 4 figs.
