New wavelengths of the YAlO/sub 3/:Er laser

In addition to the 1.662 ..mu..m laser transition, stimulated emission at three new wavelengths at 1.677, 1.706, and 1.729 ..mu..m have been observed at 300 K in the YAlO/sub 3/:Er crystal with an activator concentration of 1.25 weight percent.
