Electrical documents to support power generating station operation, maintenance, training, and modifications
- Sargent and Lundy, Chicago, IL (USA)
This paper discusses the changes in electrical document requirements that occur when construction is complete and a generating station starts to operate commercially. The needs of operator and maintenance personnel are analyzed and contrasted with those of construction personnel to illustrate areas in which the construction documents - drawings, diagrams, data bases - are cumbersome and difficult to use. A number of different document types that may be more suitable for an operating station are discusses. Additional documents that may be of valve to station operators are described. Finally, the benefits offered by these new plant operation and maintenance-oriented documents are weighed against the cost of their creation and impact on drawing maintenance.
