Influence of chemical form on cesium revaporization from the reactor coolant system

The issue of revaporization of deposited radionuclides during severe reactor accidents is discussed. Thermodynamic properties are estimated for the mixtures CsOH + CsI, CsBO/sub 2/ + B/sub 2/O/sub 3/, and Cs/sub 2/SiO/sub 3/ + SiO/sub 2/. It is shown that the chemical form of deposited cesium can alter the rate and timing of revaporization.
