Title: Circularly polarized luminescence-total luminescence studies of chiral 18-crown-6 lanthanide complexes in solution

Solution complexes of four chiral methyl-substituted 18-crown-6 macro-cycles with europium (III) and terbium (III) nitrate and perchlorate in methanol (MeOH), acetonitrile (MeCN), 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol (TFE), and 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-propanol (HFiP) have been investigated using circulary polarized luminescence (CPL) and total luminescence (TL) spectroscopy. The crown ethers used were (2R,3R)-2,3-dimethyl-1,4,7,10,13,16-hexaoxacyclooctadecane (2,3) (2R,3R,11R,12R)-2,3,11,12-tetramethyl-1,4,7,10,13,16-hexaoxacyclo-octadecane (2,3,11,12), (2S,6S)-2,6-dimethyl-1,4,7,10,13,16-hexaoxacyclooctadecane (2,6), and (2S,6S,11S,15S)-2,6,11,15-tetramethyl-1,4,7,10,13,16-hexaoxacyclooctadecane (2,6,11,15).
