Three-dimensional natural convection in a high-pressure mercury discharge lamp

                    A three-dimensional computer model is used to calculate the convective flow in a 400 W high-pressure Hg discharge lamp. The model gives the expected axisymmetric flow when the arc tube axis is vertical, and more complex three-dimensional flows when it is not.
