The Integrated Lake-Watershed Acidification Study: Volume 5, Database documentation: Final report

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:7026644
During the Integrated Lake-Watershed Acidification Study (ILWAS) over 590,000 measurements were made in three hydrologic basins. Basin vegetation, soils, and geologic media were characterized and measurements were made of the quantity and quality of water moving through the basins, from above the forest canopy to the lake outlets. These data were used to support the development of the ILWAS model, which simulated the response of surface waters to acid deposition, and to support topical research on lake-watershed acid-base processes. As prime contractors, Tetra Tech was responsible for compiling the data base and developing the model. The field and laboratory research was conducted by investigators from seven universities and two government agencies. This volume, the fifth in the ILWAS report series, describes the development of the ILWAS Data Base and provides the information necessary for others to use it.
