Resummation of nonperturbative corrections to the lepton spectrum in inclusive [ital B][r arrow][ital X][sub [ital q]][ital l][bar [nu]] decays

We apply the operator product expansion to resum the leading nonperturbative corrections to the end-point region of the lepton spectrum in inclusive semileptonic [ital B][r arrow][ital X][sub [ital q]][ital l][bar [nu]] decays, taking into account a finite quark mass [ital m][sub [ital q]] in the final state. We show that for both [ital b][r arrow][ital c] and [ital b][r arrow][ital u] transitions it is consistent to describe these effects by convolution of the parton model spectrum with a universal light-cone structure function. The moments of this function are proportional to forward matrix elements of higher-dimension operators. The dominant subleading corrections to our results are of order [ital m][sub [ital c]]/[ital m][sub [ital b]] for [ital b][r arrow][ital c] transitions, and of order [Lambda][sub QCD]/[ital m][sub [ital b]] for [ital b][r arrow][ital u] decays. The prospects for an extraction of the structure from a measurement of the lepton spectrum are discussed.
