uv and vuv degradation of very high reflectivity mirrors for use in a storage ring free electron laser

TiO/sub 2//SiO/sub 2/ multilayer dielectric mirrors centered around 630 mm have shown reflectivity degradation from 99.99% down to 99.0% due to uv synchrotron radiation emitted by a beam of 240 MeV electrons during a storage ring free electron laser experiment.
