Probabilistic determination of power cable ampacity

This paper reports that a probabilistic evaluation of the ampacity of naturally cooled and forced-cooled 300 KV underground cables has been carried out from the deterministic sensitivity studies of cable ampacities. The results show that probabilistic studies of cable ampacities should be carried out because deterministic studies give conservative results.
