Superconducting-normal phase boundary of a random network in magnetic fields

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev. B: Condens. Matter; (United States)
We consider the superconducting-normal phase boundary T/sub c/(H) of the random superconducting network in external magnetic fields in which randomness is produced by randomly shifting the vertical lines of grids about their original positions in one direction. We calculate the phase boundary using the linearized Ginzburg-Landau equation for the network. The primary effect of disorder is to smear out structures of the phase boundary. For strong degree of disorder, dips found in rational values of the Floquet factor f = (1/2, 1) / 3 ,..., diminish and the fine- and large-scale structures of phase boundary in the regular network are destroyed, in agreement with the experimental data.
