Scattering of fast neutrons by even isotopes of Zn

This work is part of a systematic study of scattering of fast neutrons by separated isotopes of intermediate nuclei. Measurements by the time-of-flight method are reported for the differential cross sections for elastic and inelastic scattering of neutrons with excitation of the first three levels of the isotopes /sup 64,66,68/Zn at neutron energies of 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, and 3.0 MeV. A theoretical analysis is given. It is shown that the scattering cross sections calculated according to the optical model and the Hauser-Feshbach statistical theory for the most part satisfactorily describe the experimental data.
