Quantities and units in radiation protection dosimetry

The determination of quantities relevant to radiation protection often involves significant uncertainties. In addition, a variety of approximations must be used for relating physical measurements to biological effects caused by radiation. The purpose of this reports is to make sure that the quantities employed be unambiguously defined and that the approximations be clearly identified. The report has two parts and two appendices. Part I deals with quantities and units for measurement and calculation in radiation protection. In Part II, quantities mainly used for limitation purposes and based on mean values are given. 11 refs.
