The contour maps presented here are regional maps of the surface concentrations of percent potassium (percent K), parts per million equivalent uranium (ppm eU), and parts per million equivalent thorium (ppm eTh). The composite-color maps are regional maps that combine K, eU, eTh, and their various ratios as varying shades of red, green, and blue. The aerial gamma-ray data used to produce these maps were obtained from the US Department of Energy (DOE) and are part of the data base obtained in 1975-1983 during the DOE National Uranium Resource Evaluation Program (NURE).
