It comprises: a power input shaft, a power output shaft and an intermediate shaft located between the input shaft and the output shaft, each shaft being coaxially aligned; first, second and third planetary gear units, each unit having a ring gear, a sun gear, a carrier and planet pinions mounted on the carrier in neshing engagement with the sun gear and ring gear; overdrive brake means; coast clutch means; direct clutch means; band brake means; intermediate brake means; a first overrunning brake; and a second overrunning clutch.
