Ferroelectric properties of the ceramic lead zirconate-orthoniobate

The authors have investigated the production process of PbZr /SUB 1-X/ (Fe /SUB 0.5/ Nb /SUB 0.5/ ) /SUB x/ O/sub 3/ solid solutions and their electromechanical properties. Solid-solution samples of the composition were prepared by ceramic technology from PbO and Fe/sub 2/o/sub 3/ of the analytically pure grades, ZrO/sub 2/ of the pure grade, and Nb/sub 2/o/sub 3/ of the special-purity grade. An x-ray diffraction ivestigation showed that depending on the concentration of the components, the solid solutions occurred at room temperature in foru different phase states. Thus, from x-ray diffraction investigations and measurements of electrophysical properties, the phase diagram of the system PbZrO/sub 3/-Pb(Fe /SUB 0.5/ Nb /SUB 0.5/ )O/sub 3/ is refined in this article. The piezoelectric properties of the ceramic PbZr /SUB 1-x/ (Fe /SUB 0.5/ Nb /SUB 0.5/ ) /SUB x/ O/sub 3/ are investigated.
