A fuel valving apparatus for an internal combustion engine which has a cylinder defining a combustion chamber in which a piston is movable, is described comprising a cylinder head closing the combustion chamber. The head has a top opening with an injection port extending from the top opening into the combustion chamber and defines an intermediate chamber communicating with the injection port, a cylindrical hollow valve holding portion positioned in an opening above the intermediate chamber and having a valve seat, a valve body movable in the valve holding portion having a flange portion engageable and disengageable with the seat so as to position the valve body in respective closed and open positions. The valve body has an interior vaporizing chamber which communicates with the intermediate chamber when the valve body is opened, fuel injection means connected through the valve holding portion communicating with the intermediate chamber when the valve body is closed, and drive means engageable with the valve body to move the valve body between closed and opened positions.
