Health assessment for Mannheim Avenue Dump, Galloway Township, New Jersey, Region 2. CERCLIS No. NJD980654180. Preliminary report

The Mannheim Avenue Dump site is on the National Priorities List. The two-acres site was used by Galloway Township and a local industry, Lenox China, for waste disposal during the 1960s and 1970s. On-site environmental contamination consists of lead (48,000 ppm), chromium (28 ppm), and non-specific petroleum hydrocarbons (530 ppm) in soil, and trichloroethylene (140 ppb), and zinc (51 ppb) in ground water monitoring wells. The site is considered to be of potential public health concern because of the risk to human health caused by the possibility to exposure to hazardous substances via migration of hazardous substances into ground water used for water supplies.
