Three different thicknesses of aluminum targets, 0.0025 cm, 0.025 cm, and 0.32 cm were irradiated with 50-MeV neutral hydrogen atoms and the resultant bremsstrahlung radiation measured. The experimental results are compared with calculations that include bremsstrahlung by the projectile's electron and its cascade, bremsstrahlung by the cascade electrons that are generated by the projectile nucleus and quasifree-electron bremsstrahlung. The theoretical and experimental values of the total yield agree within a factor of three for all target thicknesses and all bremsstrahlung energies. 16 refs., 4 figs.
