Low jitter Marx generator for cold-cathode E-beam sources

The delay and jitter characteristics of the three-electrode spark-gap were studied. A three-stage Marx generator was designed using synchronous trigger pulses for each spark gap. Risetime of the output voltage of the Marx generator can be controlled to within less than 100 ns, with the jitter time in the range of 5--10 ns.
