The NiMn intermetallic compound with Al, Ti, V additions is a convenient material for studying stored elastic energy. Those alloys undergo a martensitic transformation from the parent B2 structure to the closed-packed structures with a wide temperature range. The martensitic structure is usually complicated in alloyed NiMn, but it has recently been examined in detail for NiMn(Ti). The aim of the present work is to investigate the correlation between the shape of the hysteresis loop and crystalline and micro structures in NiMn(Ti).
