Determination of local radiative properties in coal-fired flames: Technical progress report, third quarter of the first year, March 15--June 15, 1988

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6987833
Main interest in the project is to determine the radiative properties of coal particles in situ and establish a data bank for radiative properties of different coal types. During the last three months, we have continued setting up the experiment and have worked on analytical inverse solution techniques. Recently, experiments on the pulverized-coal-fired burner have been started. These experiments are mainly preliminary test runs, and because of this we do not present any data in this report. Instead, we only describe the burner and the fluidized-bed coal feeder. Meanwhile, we continue working on the analytical techniques for the solution of the inverse radiation problem. 4 refs., 6 figs.
