Explosive liquid for fracturing of wells (in Spanish)

OSTI ID:6985229
A method is described (graphically) for stimulating an underground formation with a liquid explosive to create and extend fractures, aiding in the production of hydrocarbons. The method consists essentially of introducing the explosive, in slurry form, through well tubing to a bottom area of the well bore below a seated plug. The explosive slurry is displaced from the tubing by water, oil, and compressed gas, in that order. The tubing is then withdrawn, leaving a sealing ball on top of the seated packer. The well bore is then loaded with further liquid-weighting material, so as to control backflow. Thereafter the explosive is detonated, the well being returned to production in some conventional manner.
