Health assessment for Yellow Water Road Site, Duval County, Baldwin, Florida, Region 4. CERCLIS No. FLD980844179. Preliminary report

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:6984398
Prior to commercial development, the Yellow Water Road site was part of a dairy farm. The American Environmental Energy Corporation was formed in 1981 on the premise that insulation fluids contaminated with polychlorinated biphenyl could be removed from transformers and the transformers salvaged. In June 1986, the site was added to the National Priorities List. Contaminants of concern at the site were warehouse well (groundwater): Aroclor 1260, iron, and lead; stockpiled soil (surface soil): hexachlorobenzene, Aroclor 1248, and Aroclor 1260. Based on the available information, the site is considered to be of public health concern because of the risk to human health caused by the likelihood of exposure to hazardous substances at concentrations that may result in adverse health effects from groundwater.
