Part 2 of the hearing record covers hearings on three Senate bills that would reauthorize and amend the Price-Anderson Act in the area of victim compensation following a nuclear accident. Each of the bills would provide full compensation, with issues arising over how to allocate the costs if utilities have ultimate responsibility for nuclear insurance and how this will affect the availability of insurance. The seven witnesses included those involved in litigation involving compensation after the Three Mile Island accident and representatives of the utility and insurance industries. Additional letters and statements submitted for the record follows the statements and responses of the witnesses.
