System for decontaminating compressed gas
This patent describes a system for decontaminating compressed gas. It comprises: twin desiccant-containing towers each alternatable between and relatively alternatable in decontaminating and regenerating cycles, a coalescer-containing precoalescer upstream and connected to an inlet port on an inlet manifold of the towers and alternatable between coalescing and purge cycles, a pair of inlet valves and a pair of solenoid valves in the manifold one for each tower. The towers and precoalescer each having a drain valve and in a lower part of a housing thereof an upwardly acting compactor supplied with actuating gas from an outlet in the inlet manifold, means for cycling the towers and precoalescer in response to timer-control of the solenoid valves, and means for preventing the cycling when the pressure of the gas is below a predetermined minimum.
