Interaction between dysprosium oxide and yttrium oxide

This paper investigates the phase diagram in the Dy/sub 2/O/sub 3/-Y/sub 2/O/sub 3/ system in a wide range of concentrations and temperatures by a combination of hightemperature analytic methods along with annealing and quenching. For this system, the formation of a continuous series of solid solutions based on the H- and C-forms of rare-earth-element oxides and of the limited solid solutions based on the B-modification of Dy/sub 2/O/sub 3/ is typical. The systematics of the construction of phase diagrams of the rare-earth-element oxide-yttrium oxide systems are discussed from the crystallochemical viewpoint.
