Correlation between the optical and ESR spectra of gamma-irradiated activated phosphate glasses

This paper attempts to establish a correlation between the ESR signals and the additional-absorption band (AAB) in the optical spectra induced by radiation in a phosphate glass based on Ba(PO/sub 3/)/sub 2/ which is one of the main phosphate matrices used to synthesize fluorophosphate glasses with an addition of rare-earth ions (REI) to the glass which form effective traps for carriers of different signs.
