Method for treating radioactive organic wastes

A method is described for treating radioactive organic wastes containing anionic exchange resins. The method comprises decomposing the wastes by oxidizing treatment with at least 2 gr/hour of hydrogen peroxide per gr of waste of temperature below 100/sup 0/C. with a catalyst system comprising (a) salts containing ferrous or ferric ions at a concentration of 0.01 to 0.05 moles per liter and (b) an organic cation exchange resin in an amount of at least 1% by weight on the organic solid wastes to be decomposed.
