Energy crisis and the American political economy

This book provides an analysis of United States governmental response to the energy crisis that began with the Arab oil embargo which outlines the history of the principal oil regimes: coal, oil, natural gas, and electricity. Examining the American political economy under stress, this study critically examines the national response to the crisis, pointing to confused and contradictory policies that let to costly mistakes made during the Nixon, Ford, and Carter administrations.
