On the validity of linear approximation for non-adiabatic neutrino transitions in the sun

The authors investigate in detail the conditions of validity of linear approximation for non-adiabatic neutrino transitions in the sun. They show that linear approximation is excellent for small vacuum mixing angles. In addition, they derive simple exact formula for the probability of transitions between the adiabatic neutrino states in case of exponentially varying density.
