Influence of the B sup * resonance on B r arrow. pi. e. nu. sub e

In the chiral limit and as {ital m}{sub {ital b}}{r arrow}{infinity}, the decay {ital {bar B}}{r arrow}{pi}{sup +}e{bar {nu}}{sub e} would be dominated near zero pionic recoil by the effects of the {ital B}{sup *} resonance. We examine the influence of this mechanism on the {ital {bar B}}{r arrow}{ital Xe}{bar {nu}}{sub {ital e}} electron spectrum in the region near the end point which is important for the determination of the Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element {ital V}{sub {ital ub}}.
