The authors have studied the reactions of alkyl trimethylsilyl phosphonites with alkoxyacetylenes. The use of excess of alkoxyacetylenes in the reactions leads to the formation of double addition products: the phosphinates. Such a course of reaction is determined by the presence in the phosphonites of two fragments, P-H and Si-O-P, each of which has fairly high reactivity toward activated multiple bonds. The IR spectra were determined on a UR-20 spectrometer (NaCl), and the /sup 1/H, /sup 13/C, and /sup 31/P NMR spectra on a JEOL FX-100 spectrometer with TMS and an 85% solution of H/sub 3/PO/sub 4/ in D/sub 2/O as standards.
