Impedance characteristics of induction accelerator cells

Conference ·
OSTI ID:6955646
In this paper we present measurements of the non-linear variation of ferrite impendance in linear induction accelerator cells. Two cases are examined, a 250kV ATA cell and a 125kV ETAII cell. The ETAII cell, which resembles a ferrite loaded transmission line, is shown to have much less impedance variation than an ATA cell. Curves of ferrite impedance versus volt-seconds are presented so trade offs between flux utilization and compensation can be evaluated. 4 refs., 6 figs.
