Filmless chambers in high energy physics

The present state of the use of filmless chambers is briefly reviewed. The basic properties of filmless spark, proportional, and drift chambers are considered, together with their application in high energy physics. It is pointed out that these detectors designed for experimental high energy physics can be used in applied investigations.
