Requirements for performance testing of nuclear power plant closed cooling water systems
The purpose of this Standard is to provide system performance and functional testing criteria for nuclear power plant closed cooling water systems (CCWS). These criteria will address testing of the functional operation of the system as designed in all specified operational modes and will be applied to preoperational and surveillance testing requirements. This Standard utilizes accepted practices in the nuclear industry and specifies parameters to be measured and evaluated, data acquisition, methodology for evaluating results, acceptance criteria, test intervals, and scopes for surveillance type tests. This Standard shall be applied to all CCWS which are required to perform a specific function in shutting down a reactor, or in mitigating the consequences of an accident and may be applied, at the discretion of the owner, to other closed cooling water systems.
