Effect of deformation and angular deflection of resonant mirrors on the output characteristics of an unstable confocal resonator

The effects of deformation and angular deflection of resonator mirrors on the output characteristics of an unstable confocal resonator are analyzed and experimentally studied. The equations of the critical detuning angle of the convex mirror are derived. The calculated and the experimental results are in good agreement for the positive-branch unstable confocal resonator of a model HGL-84 transverse-flow electrical discharge CO/sub 2/ Laser.
