Adsorption of lanthanum on the (100) face of a tungsten single crystal

Journal Article · · Sov. Phys. - Solid State (Engl. Transl.); (United States)
OSTI ID:6941617

The contact potential method was used in a study of the adsorption of lanthanum on the (100) face of tungsten in approx.10/sup -/11 Torr vacuum. The work function, heat of adsorption, and frequency factor in the Arrhenius equation were determined as a function of the concentration of the adsorbed lanthanum atoms. The work function was found to depend strongly on the substrate temperature in the range 300/sup 0/K
