Coke production from mixtures of coals from different fields

It was shown in work on coking-capacity criteria for joint processing coals from the Donbas, Kuzbas, and Pechora coalfield that y (a plastometric index not defined in the paper) is inadequate for evaluation of the interchangeability of coals from these fields. Additional indices are therefore required. Using the charge employed at the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant, it was shown that such indices can include I/sub b/, the temperature at which the coal begins to enter the plastic state, and the solidification temperature.
