Massively parallel processor

A detailed description is presented of the massively parallel processor (MPP), a single instruction multiple data stream class supercomputer with 16,834 processing units capable of over 6 billion 8-bit operations per second. Various features of its hardware and software are discussed with special emphasis on applications, algorithms and programming. Specific topics include fluid dynamics modeling, database management, staging memory, parallel Pascal and the MPP, and MPP program development and simulation.
