The purpose of this study was to define the scintigraphic features of patients (pts) in Killip Classes I or II following acute myocardial infarction (AMI) in relation to ECG changes. The 41 consecutively studied pts with first AMI were divided into: Group I (n:25) which had Q-wave (transmural) and Group II (n:16) which had non Q-wave (subendocardial) AMI. There were 7 pts in Killip Class II in Group I and 6 pts in Group II (p:NS). Rest thallium-201 myocardial scintigrams and radionuclide ventriculograms were obtained at a mean of 10 days after AMI. The thallium images were assessed qualitatively and quantitatively, as to the presence of perfusion defect (PD), peri-infarction ischemia and remote ischemia in each of 15 segments using circumferential profile analysis of initial and 4 hour delayed images.
