The authors show that for the classification of G-invariant connections it is convenient to use the theory of reduction of fiber bundles, thus making it possible to reduce in a natural manner the action for symmetric gauge fields in a more general case. The classification of symmetric gauge fields and the reduction of their action in a pseudo-Riemannian space with arbitrary invariant metric are considered in the framework of fiber bundle theory.
