Proceedings of industrial needs workshop

DOE is holding a series of workshops to encourage the participation of the private sector in US. Department of Energy's (DOE) envirorunental remediation and management activities. The workshops are designed to solicit private industry's concerns and recommendations in order to develop better cooperative programs. The first of these Industrial Needs Workshops was held August 27--28 1991. The goals of this workshop were to: Seek industry input on improving collaboration between private sector and DOE on environmental management efforts; initiate alliances with workshop participants who are representative of the US environmental management industry; discuss existing DOE/industry relationships leading to improved cooperative alliances; Provide a foundation and catalyst for future industrial outreach activities; document workshop results with proceedings containing critical issues and recommendations as defined by industry. The workshop was designed to solicit candid comments from industry representatives on their current interactions with DOE's environmental management efforts, and their recommendations for improving these interactions. The workshop focused on five key areas: Institutional; Communications; Procurement; Integrated Demonstrations; and Legal.
