Emission of dye mixtures pumped by a nitrogen laser

The emission spectra of four dye mixtures pumped by a N/sub 2/ laser are studied. The mixtures are Rh6G+crestyl violet, RhB+crestyl violet, Rh6G+RhB, and Rh6G+RhB +crestyl violet. The energy transfer processes in the mixtures are discussed. It has been shown that the dye mixtures make it possible to broaden the tuning range of the dye lasers, increase the laser efficiency of some dyes, and obtain the dual wavelength laser oscillation.
