Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/6927974· OSTI ID:6927974
The Department of Energy supports research in the geosciences in order to provide a sound foundation of fundamental knowledge in those areas of earth, atmospheric, and solar-terrestrial sciences that are germane to the Department of Energy's many missions. The participants in this program include the major Department of Energy laboratories, industry, universities, and other governmental agencies. The summaries in this document describe the scope of the individual programs and detail the research performed during 1981 to 1982. The Geosciences Research Program includes research in geology, petrology, geophysics, geochemistry, hydrology, solar-terrestrial relationships, aeronomy, seismology, and natural resource analysis, including the various subdivisions and interdisciplinary areas.
