Recycling the urban forest

Urban forests are a very specific ecosystem, exerting a strong influence on their enviroment. However, such forests are increasingly under attack from pollution, traffic and loss of open space. Green waste from urban plants contributes 20-30% to landfills. Combining the pressures on the urban forest and the need to reduce waste discarded in landfills is a logical step. Recycling green wastes from landscaping, including a discussion on composting, is presented and some specific city are given.
